Artist Talk with Maritea Dæhlin, Liv Brissach and Bianca Hisse

In connection with the opening of the exhibition Maritea Dæhlin: 'A-FI-SA. But It Might Not Be Tomorrow', we host an artist talk with Maritea Dæhlin, visual artist Bianca Hisse and exhibition curator Liv Brissach.
Sunday, 28 September. 2 pm
Nordover Art Centre, Longyearbyen, Svalbard
The artist talk will be held in English!
About the artists:
Maritea Dæhlin – An interdisciplinary artist based in Norway and Mexico, second-generation Cameroonian. Her work spans theatre, performance, sound, video installations, photography, and writing, exploring identity, culture, and shifting perspectives.
Bianca Hisse – Visual artist and choreographer, born in Brazil and based in Oslo. Her artistic practice investigates the way places have been choreographed by social and political issues, employing performance as a tool for imagination and resistance. Blurring the boundaries between visual arts and dance, her research delves into how diaspora histories and macro-movements across geographical or imagined borders are entangled.
About the exhibition:
A-FI-SA is an immersive moving-image installation tracing connections between Longyearbyen, Svalbard, and San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico. Centered on transgenerational memory, the work examines ritual, place, and identity, inviting viewers to explore playful and healing connections across time and landscape.
