About the Artists:
Maritea Dæhlin – An interdisciplinary artist based in Norway and Mexico, second-generation Cameroonian. Her work spans theatre, performance, sound, video installations, photography, and writing, exploring identity, culture, and shifting perspectives.
Bianca Hisse – Visual artist and choreographer (b.1994), born in Brazil and based in Oslo. Hisse investigates how places are shaped by social and political forces, blending performance, visual art, and dance to explore diaspora, borders, and collective histories.
About the Exhibition:
A-FI-SA is an immersive moving-image installation tracing connections between Longyearbyen, Svalbard, and San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico. Centered on transgenerational memory, the work examines ritual, place, and identity, inviting viewers to explore playful and healing connections across time and landscape.
