In connection with the exhibition “To Nature”, Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum invites you to a lecture about the artist Gunnar Berg.

Art historian and author Per Posti will talk about Gunnar Berg’s life and artistic work. Berg is considered one of the most important northern Norwegian painters of the 19th century, known for his magnificent landscape paintings from Lofoten. In the exhibition, you can among other things experience his work From Svolvær.

About the speaker:
Per Posti (b. 1947, Tromsø) holds a master’s degree in art history from the University of Tromsø and has many years of experience in art communication and art history. He has worked at Tromsø Museum for over 20 years and has published several books, including Gunnar Berg – The Painter from Lofoten (2024).

This lecture offers insight into the artist’s life, works, and significance for northern Norwegian art history.

The event is included in the admission fee and is free for Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum Friends and annual cardholders.
