Georg F.W. Rohlfing

Masters' Project

Tromsø
07.12.13 — 26.01.14

During the 1980s and early 1990s, artists became increasingly interested in the field of anthropology. This interdisciplinary between art and anthropology is visible in the work of German-born artist Georg Rohlfing, who displays an artistic preoccupation with the combination of art history, cultural history and political history. For his final masters' project from the Art Academy in Tromsø, Rohlfing researches and illustrates the impact on Norwegian and German landscapes during the Second World War up until today. As an art installation in the museum's Project Room, the exhibition consists of found objects, photographs, and watercolor paintings.
