Late Night Opening at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum in Tromsø

Experience a unique guided tour – a sensory experience where breath, movement, and art come together. Through a gentle yin yoga practice, we engage with Synnøve Persen’s artworks in the exhibition “The Sea Rocks, the Sky Whispers”, while listening to the artist’s poems in Norwegian and Northern Sami. The practice is slow-paced and accessible to all levels. The instructor is Marina Borovaya, yoga instructor and museum educator at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum. Limited to 10 participants per session.

Guided Tour of the Exhibition “The Monster as a Stand-In”

The exhibition explores representations of monsters in the museum’s collection, examining portrayals of the monstrous with a special focus on Northern Norway and Sápmi, from a queer perspective.
The tour is conducted in Norwegian and is included in the admission ticket.

Community Singing in Art

We invite you to Community Singing in Art, a relaxed and social evening at the Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum in Tromsø. This is for anyone who wants to experience art and share a collective singing experience – no preparation, prior knowledge, or singing experience required.
The evening begins in “Girjegumpi,” where you can buy a drink. Then we move into the museum to explore the exhibition “The Monster as a Stand-In.” Selected artworks from the exhibition form the basis for the singing, and before each song, you’ll receive a short and accessible introduction to the art. The songs will only be revealed during the event.
The session is led by Anna Karoline Løseth Bjelvin, actor and singer, accompanied by guitarist Sverre Simonsen.
This is a low-threshold event for anyone who wants to socialize, experience art in a new way – and sing with the voice they have.
The event is held in Norwegian and is free.
Bonus: After the singing session, at 7:30 PM, you can join a guided tour of “The Monster as a Stand-In” with a museum educator.
