Art + Yoga
5:00 PM and 7:00 PM
Experience a unique guided tour – a sensory experience where breath, movement, and art come together. Through a gentle yin yoga practice, we engage with Synnøve Persen’s artworks in the exhibition “The Sea Rocks, the Sky Whispers”, while listening to the artist’s poems in Norwegian and Northern Sami. The practice is slow-paced and accessible to all levels. The instructor is Marina Borovaya, yoga instructor and museum educator at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum. Limited to 10 participants per session.

Letters on Land (Theatre Performance)
at 18.00 in Girjegumpi
Letters on Land: A Theatre Performance in Solidarity with Palestinian Land Day
This performance is the result of an intensive creative workshop with drama students from Kongsbakken. Together, they have produced original texts that explore themes of land, memory, and belonging. The writing is primarily in English and Norwegian, with contributions in other languages, reflecting the voices of Tromsø's youth.
As Tromsø is the European Youth Capital this year, we also take this opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the friendship between Tromsø and Gaza.
The performance engages directly with the new gallery space, Girjegumpi, at the NordNorsk KunstMuseum. Within this architectural installation, the performers will activate the space through both text and movement, creating an immersive experience where written and spoken words fill the environment.
Inspired by the Letters to Gaza initiative, Letters on Land strengthens narratives of resilience and cultural exchange. It serves as a tool for enduring solidarity and the intimate bond between people and the land.
This initiative is led by Mohamed Jabaly and Jenny Svensson, in collaboration with Kongsbakken VGS, Tvibit, The Tromsø-Gaza Twin City Cooperation and hosted by the NordNorsk KunstMuseum.
