Kulturnatta Programme – Friday, 2 October 2026:
11:00 – Creative Workshop for Everyone
In collaboration with Vitensenteret i Tromsø, we invite you to the workshop “Make Friendship Bracelets.” Learn the Japanese braiding technique kumihimo, or use a technique you already know. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
11:30, 12:30 and 13:30 – Playful Art Tour for the Little Ones
Join us for a playful art tour specially designed for children aged 3–6. We explore art through play, curiosity and fun. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Meet-up is at Girjegumpi. The tour lasts 20 minutes and is held in Norwegian.
14:10 and 15:10 – Interactive Tour for Adults
Join us for a guided tour of the museum’s exhibitions “Mother Dough: The Slow Alchemy of Being a Witness” and “Good Manners. Five Popular Movements, One Struggle.” The tour lasts 45 minutes. The 15:10 tour will be held in English.
15:00 and 16:00 – Conservation Tour for the Especially Curious
Join one of the museum’s conservators behind the scenes in the museum’s storage facilities and get a unique opportunity to see a carefully selected range of artworks from the museum’s collection. The tour lasts 45 minutes and is held in Norwegian.

16:20 – Performance for Young People Aged 16–20
Kunstalliansen presents “Selv”, a performance followed by a creative workshop.
The performance takes place in the exhibition “Mother Dough”, where Palestinian art tells stories about the situation in Gaza and about being forced to flee one’s own home.
19:30 – Pan-Arctic Vision: For Everyone Who Loves Music from Across the North!
Ten Arctic artists from ten Arctic communities will be broadcast live from Girjegumpi at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum, presented by Nordting. The broadcast starts at 20:30, but you are welcome to drop by both before and after! The exhibitions will be open, and the café will be serving hot dogs.
