Visit the Northern Norwegian Art Museum in Bodø and try tin casting at our Sunday workshop, where we explore the process of casting in tin. Here, you can create your own small objects by pouring tin into molds that you make yourself.

Examples of things you can make include jewelry, keychains, or small figurines.
The workshop starts at 1 PM, is free of charge, and is suitable for older children, teenagers, and adults.

Pewter casting is an old craft tradition where melted pewter is poured into molds to create various objects. The method has been used for centuries for everything from jewelry to practical household items, and it is a relatively simple process that can be done both at home and in workshop settings.

For half a century, Britta Marakatt-Labba (b. 1951 in Idivuoma, Sápmi) has been one of Sápmi’s most prominent artists. Using needle and thread, she creates a rich and varied visual universe. Through countless small stitches, Marakatt-Labba depicts motifs from Sámi history, religion and everyday life, seen from an Indigenous perspective and inspired by her upbringing in a reindeer-herding family.
