About the event
We draw inspiration from the simplified shapes and the bold, vibrant brushstrokes in the painting Trenyken I, part of the museum’s opening exhibition.

What do the mountains around you mean to you? Which lines, shapes, and colors can you see in the mountains? Join us and create your very own interpretation of mountains using acrylic paint, different tools, and techniques!

We welcome both children and adults to an open workshop with a relaxed atmosphere, where you can play, experiment, and explore form, color, and painting tools.

The workshop is free and open for drop-in between 11:30 and 13:00.

Everything is Speaking – Stories in Motion

Nordnorsk Kuntmuseum welcomes you to the new museum department in Bodø/Bådåddjo with the exhibition “Everything is Speaking – Stories in Motion”. The exhibition shows a selection of artworks from the museum’s collection from the 19th century to the present day, by artists with northern Norwegian, Sámi, Norwegian and international backgrounds.

Foredrag: Malende globetrotter - François-Auguste Biard

I dette foredraget går vi i dybden på maleriet "Kamp med isbjørner" – av François-Auguste Biard. Kim Skytte som er samlingsansvarlig i Nordnorsk kunstmuseum har interessert seg særlig for dette maleriet, men også Biards liv, reisevirksomhet og øvrig kunstproduksjon, og han har studert et omfattende materiale knyttet til kunstneren og hans samtid.
