Creative Workshop: Playing with the Sun
When you stand in front of Thorolf Holmboe’s painting “Cormorants in the Midnight Sun“, the sun can almost feel so alive that you can sense the warmth of its rays.
We will bring our own version of the sun to life by making a thaumatrope!
A thaumatrope is an optical toy invented in the 19th century—the same century Thorolf Holmboe was born. By spinning a disc with two different drawings on each side, it appears as if the images merge and come to life.
If you arrive at the museum at 11:30, you can join the exhibition and take a quick look at “Cormorants in the Midnight Sun“ before we start the workshop.
The workshop is free and suitable for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Drop-in is from 11:30 to 13:00.
We look forward to seeing you!
