What characterizes the Sami art field? Which artists have been particularly prominent? Which Sami artists are represented in the Northern Norwegian Art Museum's collection?
Artwork by a number of artists will be visually represented in the lecture, including: Jon Ole Andersen, Tomas Colbengtson, Aage Gaup, Rose-Marie Huuva, Raisa Porsanger, Geir Tore Holm, Are Andreassen, Aslaug Juliussen, Iver Jåks, Lars Nils Pirak, Alf Magne Salo, Maret Anne Sara, John Andreas Savio, Ingunn Utsi, Sissel M. Bergh and Britta Marakatt Labba.
Nordnorsk Kuntmuseum (Northern Norwegian Art Museum) welcomes you to the new museum department in Bodø/Bådåddjo with the exhibition «Everything is Speaking – Stories in Motion». The exhibition shows a selection of artworks from the museum’s collection from the 19th century to the present day, by artists with northern Norwegian, Sámi, Norwegian and international backgrounds. The juxtaposition of historical and contemporary works brings new perspectives and stories into the collection. The assembled artworks explore relevant social issues and convey the cultural diversity of Northern Norway and Sápmi.

Ticket to the museum gives access to the lecture.

Lecturer: Kristoffer Dolmen, is employed at the North Norwegian Art Museum in Bodø, he has a background as a curator from various institutions and projects and has worked particularly with Sámi contemporary art, duodji (crafts) and design in serveral exhibitions.
