The exhibition ‘Layers of Time - Everyday Life in Svalbard’ explores the essence of Svalbard through art and questions how the photographs are relevant today and how memories and experiences are passed on from generation to generation.
Artists give us new perspectives on Svalbard, including from a woman's perspective, and challenge the often-used notion of Spitsbergen as male, heroic, uninhabited and inhospitable.
