Bodø

In February 2025, Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum opened a new branch in Bodø – right in the heart of the city, in the historic Sparebank building from 1949 at Storgata 40. With this, we are strengthening our presence in Northern Norway, alongside our established venues in Tromsø and Longyearbyen.

We want to be an inclusive and accessible art museum for everyone, showcasing both historical and contemporary art that engages and inspires.

In addition to the exhibition hall, the museum also has a shop, a café, and a banquet hall used for lectures, artist talks, and workshops. The banquet hall can also be rented for various events.

Creative Workshop: “My North” Patchwork Workshop

Welcome to a creative workshop at the Northern Norwegian Art Museum in Bodø. Create your patch for the art project “My North” and share your story through embroidery, cutting, collage, or other techniques. Your patch may become part of the large patchwork quilt that has already been started in the project.

Double Exhibition Opening in Bodø – April 30!

For the first time, Britta Marakatt-Labba’s 24-meter-long embroidery Historjá is shown in Bodø. This monumental work conveys Sámi history through the artist’s rich, detailed, and distinctive visual language. At the same time, melanie bonajo’s (they/them) exhibition When the Body Says Yes opens, featuring three video installations that explore the body, intimacy, and belonging in a digital age.
