Bodø
In February 2025, Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum opened a new branch in Bodø – right in the heart of the city, in the historic Sparebank building from 1949 at Storgata 40. With this, we are strengthening our presence in Northern Norway, alongside our established venues in Tromsø and Longyearbyen.
We want to be an inclusive and accessible art museum for everyone, showcasing both historical and contemporary art that engages and inspires.
In addition to the exhibition hall, the museum also has a shop, a café, and a banquet hall used for lectures, artist talks, and workshops. The banquet hall can also be rented for various events.

Guided Tour of "Historjá" and Introduction to "When the Body Says Yes"
Welcome to weekend guided tours at Nordnorsk Art Museum in Bodø.
Every Saturday and Sunday, we offer a guided tour that provides insight into Sámi history through the monumental work Historjá by artist Britta Marakatt-Labba. This is followed by an introduction to When the Body Says Yes by Melanie Bonajo, in which the artist explores the body, intimacy, and social belonging in a technological age.
