Special screening of «Kivalina»
Tuesday, 17. January 2017 - 19:00

Come see a special screening of a special film. On Tuesday January 17th at 7pm we will screen Kivalina on Tromsø International Film Festival's outdoor cinema.

130 miles above the Arctic Circle an Inupiaq Eskimo tribe is living on an island disappearing into the ocean. With no resources to move and only a precarious sea wall to protect them, the film poetically explores the community's struggle to maintain their way of life within a landscape and a system that is failing them.

The film is part of our cooperation with Anchorage Museum and Tromsø International Film Festival, View from Up Here. Julie Decker, director of Anchorage Museum will do a short introduction. Gina Abatemarco will not be able to attend as previously announced.
